2008 Castan Centre Global Interns

In October 2007 the Castan Centre awarded five internships to Monash law students who have shown a strong and continuing interest in the study and practical application of human rights. These internships take place from November 2007 to April 2008 at Human Rights First in New York City; The Australian Delegation to the United Nations Human Rights Council, Geneva; International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, The Hague; International Women’s Rights Action Watch-Asia Pacific, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and the South African Legal Aid Board, South Africa.

These five students are given the unique opportunity to experience and contribute to international human rights organisations first hand. To find out more about the organisations and the background of the Castan interns, please see the intern profiles below.
