Access to justice: How much is too much?

Travel information

The Monash University Prato Centre, Palazzo Vaj, is located in the centre of the old town ofPrato, only two minutes away from the city's cathedral and walking distance from both train stations. Prato is a northern Tuscan town, only a short distance from Florence and is well serviced by trains and buses.

On foot  
Palazzo Vaj is located in the heart of the medieval centre, a 15 minute walk from the main Prato Centrale train station and a 5 minute walk from the smaller station Prato Porta Serraglio. See map below.

By car  
Take the A1 from Florence, follow indications for the A11 at Firenze nord and exit at Prato est. From here follow signs to the centro. Pay parking is available outside the castle, very near to the Monash University Prato Centre.

By train
Prato is a 25 minute train ride from Florence. Train timetables. (link http://www.trenitalia.it/)

By bus
Prato can also be reached from Florence by bus; CAP and Lazzi buses depart from outside the main Florence train station, Santa Maria Novella.

By air
Prato has regular train and bus connections to:

  • Pisa Airport
  • Bologna Airport
  • Florence (Peretola) Airport

Taxis and regular bus services run from Prato to Florence airport.

There is also a non-stop regular bus service between Pisa Airport and Florence, which takes just over an hour and costs approximately €8.
