Entry requirements

Applicants to the Monash JD should hold a recognised undergraduate degree in a discipline other than law and demonstrate extensive employment and life experience. The JD is a challenging and intensive degree and applicants must demonstrate a commitment to the study of law at this high standard.

Short listed candidates will be interviewed (via teleconference if necessary) and entry will be based on the following considerations:

  • Standard of academic record and other academic achievements
  • Professional experience
  • Personal and professional achievements
  • Communication skills (written and oral)
  • Commitment, motivation and reasons for undertaking the course

All applicants must satisfy the English language requirement.  Domestic students must meet the English entry requirement listed in the Postgraduate entry requirements.  International students must meet the English language requrements as part of the Academic entry requirements - postgraduate courses.
