First Degrees in LawMonash Law is committed to multidisciplinary studies and improving career options and professional outcomes for our students. In addition to the traditional Bachelor of Laws, we offer a variety of double degrees across many disciplines. Undergraduate first degrees in LawBachelor of Laws Course Map Important course informationAll law courses are offered on campus full-time or part-time and all students are expected to participate in the classes for which they are enrolled. Credit (advanced standing) for prior learningThe single Bachelor of Laws is normally four years full-time study. Graduate applicants who have already completed an undergraduate degree or applicants who have satisfactorily completed the equivalent of at least one year of full-time study in another faculty at Monash (internal transfer) or another approved university (external transfer) may be able to enter the first year of law and be eligible for up to 36 credit points of credit, which means they will be able to complete the Bachelor of Laws in just three years of full-time study (or part-time equivalent). Internal transfer (for current Monash students) External transfer (for students at another university) Double degree programs Double degrees require students to undertake both degrees simultaneously, enabling students to complete both degress in a shorter time than undertaking each degree separately. Most of the double law degrees are five years in length, with the exception of degrees with engineering and medicine.
